Warm water Beautiful bodies How they shine In the sun I sneak up And speak well Whoever wants to fuck Must be friendly There is love for everyone There is love for everyone There is love for everyone I close my eyes Then I see her I lock her up in my imagination I close my eyes She doesn’t defend herself There is love for everyone – not for me Warm water Beautiful bodies Not for me It’s running away Fine curves Good build Full mouth Such brown skin There is love for everyone There is love for everyone There is love for everyone – and for me I close my eyes Then I see her I lock her up in my imagination I close my eyes She doesn’t defend herself There is love for everyone – not for me I close my eyes We are alone I’m holding her tightly And no one sees her crying She closes her eyes She doesn’t defend herself There is love for everyone – and for me There is love for everyone There is love for everyone There is love for everyone – and for me Translation © Affenknecht.com |
It can also be about a couple that is already in a relationship or married. And the man (husband) in the relationship isn’t feeling his partner (wife) is doing her part in the relationship after all he has done when it comes to loving him as much as he loves her. So rather then cheating on her, he wants to remain faithful to his feelings and commitment to her, despite her now not loving him anymore physically making him feel cheated.
This song feels almost like a continuation of Feuer and Wasser, but it also recalls some of the same feelings as Du Reichst So Gut. Although Du Reichst doesn’t mention water directly, it does say that he touches her “wet skin”.
Another similarity between the two songs is how he tells the woman in Du Reischt not to resist and in Leibe is Fur Alle, he talks about how she doesn’t resist, even though she’s apparently crying, so whatever is happening is not something that she wants.
The water theme is all through out Feuer and Wasser as is the singer’s apparent feelings of rejection and inferiority. He is in this girl’s shadow so all he can do is clumsily reach out and grab for her with wet hands. In liebe, he’s still watching a woman, or women in the water, still feeling isolated, inferior, unlovable, but this time instead of just impotently reaching out as the object of his desire slides past, he takes matters into his own hands and “makes” her love him.
She doesn’t protects herself
Shouldn’t be She doesn’t protect herself
ooh on my 1st post i meant
Shouldn’t IT be She doesn’t protect herself
and
i think Und rede fein should be And talking fine instead of And talks fine
Ich sperr sie ein in meine Fantasie Actually means “I confine/jail/cage/lock her (up) in my Fantasy. Einsperren is the actual verb, but Till doesn’t place the separable prefix “ein” at the end of the sentence where it should go.
Grammatically, the sentence ought to read “Ich sperr sie in meine Fantasie ein,” but he’s taking artistic liberty with the lyrics.
And “Formen” does mean form, but here it would mean something along the lines of “shape” or “contour” (talking about a woman’s body).
German isn’t the easiest language to translate into English. I’ve done a lot of German to English lyric translations before and it can get tricky, especially when you don’t know what the lyricist was thinking at the time!
in the sentence: who wants to fuck has to be kind, kind is not the proper word… Till says muss freundlich sein that means he should be friendly
This song is about masturbation..
I love the explanation at the bottom of the translation! A true, true fan I must say!
I know the direct translation of “Liebe ist für alle da” is “There is love for everyone,” but can this mean something else? Does it have a double meaning?
It’s not all about masturbation. The beginning of the song is the real event that leads to masturbation.
Dude, on the meaning, the marraige part, totally know what that’s like. You really try to keep that person any way you can; even masturbating to the idea of being with them when they really don’t want you that way. Some things are just not meant to be.
“The water theme is all through out Feuer and Wasser as is the singer’s apparent feelings of rejection and inferiority. Just a short note with that explanation. Water when used as a theme refers to deception. For example think of a spear fisher trying to catch a fish and the fish isn’t really where it is looking at it through the water.
What I’m getting at here is water is both being used as some sort of separation, but also it is being used as deception, which can be seen in the song Hafisch. But water is definitely being used as a reoccurring theme throughout the entire album, or more so deception and seclusion.
Warmes Wasser
Schöne Leiber
Wie sie glänzen
This is suggesting that for someone who has been so love deprived, the water is being the theme of deception. Where the women are in the water, and “shining, or glimmering” which is making them beautiful. However this is not the case. The person seeing the women is so love deprived that he actually is clinging on to these women for the fact they are women.
Thats a short example of what i mean with reference to the lyrics. It re-occurs throughout the song and i could give a full explanation if you don’t quite understand what i mean, but i think that example should suffice.
There is one thing I don’t understand: when this song, and this one only, leaked on the internet (as far as I can remember, it happened in July) there was a big fuss and everybody was mad at everyone. But now, when the whole album is available through torrents, rapid share etc. no one says a word…
Its only in his imagination that she doesn’t defend herself. Since she continues crying, he figures that her eyes need to be closed, thus making her willing, since it worked for him. So, in the story, the man is of the opinion that in order to have sex, he must seem friendly and proper (speak well and be friendly). The sun is his own personal light that he shows upon the bodies, and the sun makes these bodies glisten with help of the warm water, which is warm due to the sun’s heat.
It sure is a song about masturbation, and a good one at that. I think any guy or woman for that matter can relate to the events in the song. How you notice a person that “arouse” you and how you “lock” her/him in your imagination (as the lyrics put it), where he/she becomes a willing subject (no resistance) and you well, play it all out in your mind. It also refers to that not all our sexual thoughts are kosher, where sometimes we can be rough and hard (even borderline rapist) and also how masturbation is a double-edged sword which is not always a fulfilling event, but can be an act of frustration and anger. Relationships can be hard to be in, and also hard to get. But in our imaginations we are führers of our own life and not least the opposite sex.
I like the song alot, and think it’s lyrically one of the strongest on the album. Whilst Pussy is a tongue-in-cheek song about sex as a commodity and a stab at american prejudices against germans (and other europeans) this is far more poignant and does not rely on shock tactics and humour. Rammstein at their best, imho.
I think this song is amazing and I love the lyrics to all their songs. For a song about masturbation the lyrics are incredibly powerful and amazing.
Correction.
“Die Liebe ist für alle da – auch für mich”
“(the) love is there for everyone – also for me (for me too)”
till has been using the fire and water metaphor since the beginning (almost all rammstein songs have it)
here’s a list:
1.Wollt Ihr Das Bett in Flammen Sehen – Do you want to see the bed in flames
2.Asche zu Asche – Asches to asches
3.Seemann – Sailor
4.Du Reichst So Gut – You smell so well
5.Laichzeit – Spawning time
6.Rammstein – Rammstein
7.Sehnsucht – Longing
8.Klavier – Piano
9.Alter Mann – Old man
10.Eifersucht – Jealous
11.Mein Herz Brennt – My heart burns
12.Sonne – Sun
13.Feuer Frei! – Fire Free!
14.Spieluhr – Music Box
15.Nebel – Fog
16.Reise, Reise – Travel, travel
17.Benzin – Petrol
18.Mann gegen Mann – Man against Man
19.Rosenrot – Rose-red
20.Hilf mir – Help me
21.Feuer und Wasser – Fire and Water
22.Haifisch – Shark
23.Donaukinder – Children of Danube
he also uses a lot of heart, sky, light, sun and animal references.
It’s about masturbation and rape… great song!
Looking at the translation, I interpret it differently than what has been said that the theme is rape. The first three lines in the chorus give me the impression that he’s fanticizing about her and can have her however he wants in his head but in reality he can’t have her (even in his pursuits).
The last part of the chorus seems to denote that he starts fanticizing about her in a more violent or forceful manner by his own lonliness, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s about rape.
From fantasizing and masturbating to actually raping the girl he saw on the beach– yikes. This is the stuff nightmares are made of, and it also falls on the side of ‘Fantasy is dangerous,’ an opinion of which I am not fond because of its ramifications for me.
I agree with AlphaLambda. Upon a closer inspection of the lyrics, it seems that he repeats the line “I close my eyes” a lot, such as to mean that the reason why she doesn’t defend herself is because he is fantasizing.

All in all is a very good song. Doesn’t matter what it is about. Don’t be too interested in what it is about. Feel it, that’s all. it can be about the extinction of the polar bears, so? enjoy listening. probably the Rammstein,if they read your comments of course (which is quite improbable), poke a lot of fun at your analised comments. digg deeper or don’t at all, don’t be naive. Enjoy the song, that’s all. Good luck!!!
One of the great things about rammstein is that every one have his own interpretation of the song. This is why i don’t like the explaining note at the end, it imposes an interpretation of the song. For me, the song is about masturbation, but i won’t say you are wrong if you think it’s about rape.
sounds like the guy masturbates about this girl at the beach he saw and then at the end he actually rapes her.
A thought comes to mind: If the speaker’s fantasy is of raping the girl he’s lusting after, then perhaps we should be grateful he’s only using it as masturbation material instead of actually going out and raping her….
Im my opinion,it is about masturbation,as we can se,the fantasy in his mind is getting a bit bulrried as he thinks of his lack of self-esteem:
“Warm water
Beautiful bodies
Not for me
It’s running away”
(maybe “it’s running away is the blood, dwindling in his penis,as the fantasy getting blurried)
But then he concentrates on details that, how should I say, “may cause a better erction”(fine curves, good build, full mouth),brings back the false reality of the fantasy.
Sie wehrt sich nicht i think means she does not fight back. But I may be wrong.
This comment is directed @ Ahirry, the song isn’t about masturbation, I don’t know where you could get such an idea. It’s obviously about rape “no one sees her crying” “she doesn’t defend herself”. I mean, the only way you could contemplate it being about masturbation is “I lock her up in my imagination” but Rammstein provides no more hints other than that. It’s far more likely to be about as other people stated; someone who feels love deprived and ends up raping someone. Also to top that off, if the song WAS about masturbation the setting about warm water and beautiful bodies would be unnecessary part of the song, you’re definetely wrong on that one.
By “So braune Haut” does he mean she is a Nigger?
