A documentary about Flake

June 16th will be the first in a documentary about Christian Lorenz, entitled “Flake – Mein Leben” (“Flake – My Life”), the Babylon cinema in Berlin.

Directed by Hendel Annekatrin, the short film retraces the life for 43 minutes of Flake, since his first concerts with Feeling B, until his passion for vintage cars, remembering his ascent with Rammstein. The director was able to collect photos, events and exclusive interviews.

Note that the documentary was produced for ZDF and Arte. So there’s a chance he will ever be broadcast on these channels.

Rammstein keyboardist Flake has trouble with VW

As we have written some time ago, Flake has his own bussiness, renting VW Transporters.

In 2007 VW group bought the trademark “Bulli” from the vehicle manufacturer Kässbohrer. Now the company wants, however, that the Rammstein keyboardist Flake with his business partners cease using the name for a Bulli Rental.

14 VW buses belonging to the two have been operating since 2008 in the nostalgia business. On the official website of berlin bulli, the company distanced itself from the potentially resulting impression that Berlin could be bullish in a connection with the Volkswagen AG.

Whether that’s enough? As you can see, Rammstein is involved in another “copyright infringement” story.

Rammstein – Mutter tour DVD petition

There is petition for release a live concert on DVD of german hard rock band “Rammstein”, from “Mutter tour” (in years 2001-2002). They recorded their live show in Berlin at 18. – 19. 5. 2001 and the fans want to buy whole concert on DVD (or Blu-Ray).

Rammstein released two songs from this concert on DVD “Lichtspielhaus” When there will be 500 000 signatures, they will give this petition to Pilgrim Management. You can see the petition here.

Affenknecht opinion: they will not release the old stuff, but the new LIFAD tour instead. They may add some old songs from Berlin, but this is not probable. Pilgrim management will earn more money with actual songs, shot in better resolution for Blu-Ray (I am sure they were not using necessary cameras in 2001). But anyways, good luck to petitioners!

EUR 45,000 damages for unauthorized use of line “featuring Rammstein”

“Apocalyptica” has to pay 45,000 Euros in damages for trademark infringement and naming rights before the Regional Court of Berlin to the group “Rammstein “.

For their album “Worlds Collide” from the year 2007, the Finnish cellist group Apocalyptica recorded with various guest musicians, including Till Lindemann, singer of the band “Rammstein “.

The album was then advertised by the line “featuring Rammstein”. This happened nationwide with ads in magazines, city light posters and stickers on recordings. Consent of the band “Rammstein” was not present.

This was settled by a proposal by the court, the parties agreed to the payment of 45,000 € as a reasonable royalty. The file number of the procedure is as follows: 16 O 570/08.

Richard Kruspe Caught Urinating in Public

Just when I thought nothing would surprise me anymore about Rammstein, came another shocker. Richard Kruspe was caught urinating in public while he was drunk in Belegrad.

Reports say that Kruspe was so intoxicated that he could not wait to go to a proper restroom so he ended up slouching against a fence outside the bar and urinitating in broad daylight.

Richard Kruspe caught urianting in Belegrad, Christopher Schneider probably just finished his daily task.

As a result he was sentenced to 5 months in prison (Spandau Prison in Berlin). For this period Axel Rudi Pell will replace him as a backup guitarist. Axel will join the band for the first time during the gig in Berlin on May 21st, 2010 and will promote his upcoming album “The Crest”.
