Gibson Paul Landers Les Paul Unveiled

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012
Gibson Paul Landers Les Paul

Gibson Paul Landers Les Paul

The Gibson Paul Landers Les Paul, announced at NAMM 2012, provides a new signature model for the renowned Rammstein guitarist. The Neue Deutsche Härte band from Berlin have built a staggering international following since they formed in 1994, becoming the most successful German language band ever. As you might expect from a band famed for its industrial sound, and impenetrable walls of guitar, the Paul Landers Les Paul is well armed for extreme rock tones, and has a stark visual aesthetic befitting the bands image.

We have also updated Paul Lander’s equipment page.

Paul Landers: South American concerts slightly reduced

Sunday, November 14th, 2010

Radionics Colombian radio interviewed Paul Landers. On this occasion, the guitarist revealed that because of transportation costs, the concerts in South America (and therefore logically North America) will be presented in a slightly reduced version of the complete show.

We know that the setlist, lights and decorations had been reduced for the summer festivals. We will be smarter after the gig in Chile on 25th November.

Rammstein’s next video will be Haifisch

Monday, December 28th, 2009

The very recent interview with Paul Landers revealed the big secret: next video (and probably single as well) will be Heifisch.

An Interview with Paul Landers of Rammstein, Posted: Thursday, December 24, 2009, By: Donnie Beach

Are there future plans to make other videos from the album, or will you be too busy with the tour in the coming months to work on that?

Landers:

There are two more videos already in the works. ‘Ich Tuh Dir Weh’ was shot last week by the band, and it’s a straight performance video that we shot on our new stage. The other video will be for ‘Haifisch,’ and it’s going to be a classic Rammstein video with a story behind it, but I’d rather not give any more details and let you be surprised by it. The band will also be touring Europe soon, and in fall of 2010, we hope to be in North America.

The 57th issue of the magazine RockOn has been just published in the kiosks. This issue contains an interview with Paul confirming some information on the new album and reveals new details.

The name of the new opus is confirmed, it will be Liebe ist für alle da and its release is scheduled to November 20th (unreliable).

Paul tells us that the bonus songs will be released on singles and that normally there will be a special version of LIFAD with three bonus tracks: “We have therefore provided a very good song that can be exploited later.”

According to Paul, a second single is expected and will probably be “Ich tut dir Weh”. In this the interview, Paul also explained again the process of writing the album and showed few jokes.

The Rammstein man and the love of DDR

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

Christian Lorenz alias Flake played in GDR times in the punk band Feeling B, later in Rammstein. Now he has a book of tapes, photographs and Stasi reports. WELT ONLINE asked Flake about punk party, occupied houses and the Nazi allegations against Rammstein.

Christan “Flake” Lorenz is keyboardist from Rammstein, he began as a member of the punk band Feeling B.

Who likes Rammstein humorous elements on stage must adhere to Christian “Flake” Lorenz. Flake played that role first during Feeling B era ( “We always wolln artig!”). The band existed from 1983 until 2000, when their singer died.

Flake and the guitarist Paul Landers moved in 1994 to the band Rammstein but Feeling B still continued. They remained a fun-punk band with a strange tendency to medieval folk music.

Interview with Paul Landers, January 2008

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

As I have already informed you, radio Goethe interviewed Paul Landers, the guitarist from Rammstein. You can read the whole interview (in German) on following page: radiogoethe.org

Some quotations from the interview:

Radio Goethe: On your DVD “Völkerball” we see the French, British, Japanese enthusiastically sing along your text. How you explain that the concept really works?

Paul Landers: Perhaps because there is no concept. Most suspects behind a man thing, the success has always as a prefix. I like to read biographies of inventors and so on. Many inventions are made accidentally, as the record. Even the good inventions are always accidentally. And our band is now no concept. Our concept – if one of them now wants to speak – was actually, if all shorts, we have long pants, all have long hair, we have short hair, all singing in English, German, we sing. That was really our concept. The fact that we are not the usual paths. Moreover, we are from the East and thereby in relation to the West Germans quite unconcerned what authorities are concerned. So we think now is not if we do it now, it may well be that in the not good. So these alleged anticipatory obedience, we have not correct. And the opposite – times when we tried to be so neatly, it is always to the rear started. So our best recipe is simple. And I can really only guess each. Especially if it is not allowed, it is interesting, and then it usually was. Behind the mountain is always beautiful, as is the sea. And when the confrontation and afraid of the anger, then it remains so lukewarm.

Radio Goethe: When will be the new album released?

Paul Landers: That’s a very good question (laughing). So we are in the process of about 30 ideas in demo mode recorded and in about three weeks there will be the first song as a demo. Then 20 will be junked and then the ten most beautiful will work. I think at the end of the year comes the CD out. We will start probably in the spring with the recording.

Monday, November 5th, 2007

There is some new information about the upcoming Rammstein album.

The Gauntlet recently interviewed Rammstein guitarist, Paul Landers, and asked about the upcoming album. “The big news is that the band has just gotten back together and has begun working on new songs” stated Paul. “We are working on new songs and have put together 30 songs already. There are a few songs that came from individual members at home, but the thing that is really fun this time is the work we do together.”
